Culture makes a difference
|
Webster's defines "culture" as "the act of
developing the intellectual and moral faculties especially by
education" and "enlightenment and excellence of taste
acquireded
by intellectual and aesthetic training." Student Support
Services seeks to accomplish
this by offering cultural events throughout the year. These events
are free of charge
to the Student Support Services participant with the program
taking care of all travel arrangements.
Past trips include attending Broadway series shows in Cincinnati,
OH and Louisville, KY; visiting
local attractions
with historical or cultural significance;
and taking a three day trip in the Spring. This fall, students
will have an opportunity to travel to Shaker Village in Danville,
KY and also to the
Biltmore Mansion in Ashville, NC for Christmas at the the Biltmore.
For trip information or to sign up for this trip please contact

The
Spring trip is unique in that it offers a host of cultural
activities as well as a graduate school tour. Again, these
trips are free of charge to the Student Support Services participants with the SSS program
