Master's Degrees in Psychology

Idea

All M.A. programs in Psychology provide a solid academic groundwork in the discipline.  The Clinical, Counseling, and School specialization options are designed to develop effective Master’s level practitioners and involve training in the delivery of psychological services.  The General program is designed to prepare the student for further graduate study, teaching at the college level, or for personal enrichment.

Master of Arts in Psychology
with Specializations in Clinical, Counseling or School Psychology (45 hrs):
 

 Designed to meet Kentucky curriculum requirements for state licensure in one of three areas of specialization.  A variety of practicum and internship placements are available for each area of specialization.

 

Master of Arts in General Psychology
(36 hrs):
 

  Designed for those seeking a Master's degree in psychology for those who may wish to pursue further doctoral studies. Also an excellent choice for those seeking career advancement or personal enrichment. 

 

Entrance Requirements:

 Application & $25 Application Fee

  Transcripts (GPA 3.0 recommended)

  Statement of Goals and Objectives

 

Requirements for Candidacy (after 12 hours):

  Acceptable GRE - General Scores

  Two Letters of Recommendation

  Resume of relevant work experience

  Writing Sample (recommended)

  Interview with Psychology Faculty
